AEIVA Presents Pinhole Camera Workshop with Jillian Browning
This free 3-hour workshop welcomes artists, curious beginners, and adults across the arts community seeking something meaningful to do. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, join us for a unique opportunity to slow down, observe, and create one-of-a-kind works of art.
Dive into the exciting world of pinhole photography with UAB professor Jillian Browning at the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts (AEIVA). Inspired by the pinhole camera photography on view in Erin Jane Nelson’s exhibition at AEIVA, participants will learn about the history of photography and the development of pinhole and long-exposure techniques, create their own pinhole camera out of repurposed materials, and, using their cameras, make their own images to take home.
This workshop is free, but advance registration is required.
