UAB Center for the Arts Presents 2025 Arts Block Party

It’s our Annual 2025 Arts Block Party! This free event is our gift to the community, so come for the fun and stay for the show! We’ll have your favorite food trucks, a live DJ, local creative vendors, art activities, giveaways, free art museum tours, music performances, and fun for the whole family.

Friday, October 3^rd, with the fun beginning at 5:00 PM! Get ready to eat, create, connect, and celebrate the arts at our biggest community event of the season! Check out the list below to see which vendors will be there.

Alys Stephens Center:

• DJ Bad Boy Butch as the DJ for the outdoor Block Party
• Endea Owens and the Cookout will perform in the Alys Stephens Center at 8:00 pm. (The show is free, but we ask that you request a ticket here.)

UAB Arts in Medicine:

Enjoy a fun and free activity for all ages by creating hand-printed artworks on wildflower seed paper, which can be enjoyed as art or planted to grow flowers.

ArtPlay:

Create your very own personalized “Blazer Bracelet” to take home!

Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts:

The Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts (AEIVA) will open its new Young Gifted and Black exhibit and provide exclusive art gallery tours from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Concert: 8:00 PM | Alys Stephens Center, Jemison Concert Hall

Tickets: Tickets are available here on a “Pay What You Choose” basis, allowing you to decide how much to pay for this performance. Simply select the amount that works for you when reserving your ticket—no questions asked. The suggested ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for children, but you are free to pay more or less. We look forward to seeing you at the show.

Endea Owens is known for her powerful bass playing and joyful, genre-blending sound. As the house bassist for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she will bring her high-energy band to Birmingham for a concert that is both soulful and uplifting. The Cookout always provides a feel-good experience that invites everyone to come together.
