ASC Presents Vishnu, Davis & Haleigh
Join us for a pay-what-you-choose performance this summer featuring Indian artist Vishnu Ramprasad on his self-invented instrument dubbed NAVTAR® alongside Birmingham-based guitar-and-violin duo Davis Little and Haleigh Black. Haleigh serves as a beloved Violinist-in-Residence with UAB Arts in Medicine. Vishnu, Davis & Haleigh blend musical traditions from Alabama and India, creating a vibrant sound that is both modern and deeply rooted in tradition.
Biography:
Vishnu, Davis & Haleigh is a cross-cultural collaboration between Davis & Haleigh, a guitar-and-violin duo from Birmingham, Alabama, and Vishnu Ramprasad, an award-winning Carnatic fusion artist from Bengaluru, India. Davis & Haleigh’s music blends Celtic, Appalachian, and jazz influences, while Vishnu brings a deep foundation in Indian classical, Western classical, and jazz traditions. Vishnu performs on the NAVTAR®, a 9-string instrument of his own invention that combines fretted, fretless, and harp-like elements. Together, the musicians create an acoustic fusion rooted in tradition but full of energy, creativity, and improvisation. After two U.S. tours and a recent tour in India, they are excited to reunite for another run of concerts this summer.
