AEIVA Presents The Mock Trial
Experience Justice in a New Way
UAB’s Justice Advocacy students and the UAB Pre-Law Program invite you to a powerful showcase inspired by AEIVA’s exhibition Young, Gifted, and Black.
This event features a socio-trial—a groundbreaking, community-driven approach to justice that goes beyond guilt or innocence. Socio-trials create space for truth-telling, accountability, and healing by blending restorative practices, participatory theater, and community dialogue.
As part of the audience, you become the jury—joining in deliberations that explore the deeper social, cultural, and political questions raised by the exhibition. Together, we’ll imagine what justice can look like when it seeks not just punishment, but transformation, reconciliation, and lasting change.
