UAB Arts in Medicine and UAB ArtPlay Presents Sharrif Simmons September Residency
Sharrif Simmons is a celebrated poet, musician, and arts educator whose dynamic blend of spoken word and acoustic performance has inspired audiences across the U.S. and Europe. This September, he’ll join UAB Arts in Medicine & UAB ArtPlay for a month-long residency, leading workshops with students, veterans, and community members across UAB’s campus, the Birmingham VA, and more. A founding force behind the Birmingham Arts and Music Festival and a founding teaching artist of UAB ArtPlay, Simmons is known for using the arts to spark connection and conversation.
