Alex Cuba is a Grammy-winning Cuban-Canadian singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer renowned for his genre-bending Latin music. With nine albums, he has won four Latin Grammys, two Juno Awards, and a 2022 Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. Alex blends Afro-Cuban roots with global influences like jazz, pop, and funk, creating a unique “Latin Soul” sound that redefines Cuban music. His poetic lyrics and innovative approach honor traditional trova and son while pushing the cantautor genre into the future.

Kristian Trevino

Kristian Trevino is the founder of Latinos Con Onda, an event company in Birmingham dedicated to celebrating and promoting Latin American culture through vibrant, community-driven events. A passionate vinyl collector and event promoter, Kristian is deeply immersed in the music scene, curating experiences that bring people together through sound and culture.

In addition to his work with Latinos Con Onda, Kristian is the co-host of The Other Sounds of Latino America on Substrate Radio, where he showcases the diverse and dynamic music of Latin America, exploring genres and artists that highlight the region’s rich musical heritage. Through his endeavors, Kristian continues to amplify the voices and artistry of the Latin American community in Birmingham and beyond.
