Special Edition – The Art of Communication and Connection: Empowering Patients and Care Partners during a Life-Threatening Illness
As part of a residency with acclaimed artist Manjari Sharma, this VMHM will feature a live-streamed panel discussion. In partnership with the UAB Brain Aging and Memory Care Hub, this discussion will highlight how effective communication can significantly improve the quality of life for people facing dementia. Research indicates that strong connections and open communication among patients, care partners, and healthcare teams can enhance patient satisfaction, overall well-being, and provide essential support for families. Featured panelists include Manjari and David Geldmacher, MD, Professor, and Warren Family Endowed Chair in Neurology and Director, Division of Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology.
