AEIVA, ASC, AIM & ArtPlay Present Arts Block Party

Join AEIVA, ASC, ArtPlay and Arts in Medicine as we officially kick off our 2023-24 programming with a memorable night of art, music and food trucks! Visit AEIVA for the opening of our two fall exhibitions, then move to the ASC to explore the ArtPlay kids zone and to participate in clay art activities in the Arts in Medicine wellness zone. Go outdoors to learn about various UAB organizations at their table displays while a DJ spins tunes. Then it will be time for a live concert featuring Red Baraat, a pioneering band from Brooklyn, N.Y. Conceived by dhol player Sunny Jain, the group has drawn worldwide praise for its singular sound, a merging of hard-driving North Indian bhangra with elements of hip-hop, jazz and raw punk energy.

This event is free and open to the public and will be located in ASC’s Engel Plaza and at AEIVA. It’s a moveable feast of culture and arts for UAB and the city of Birmingham!
