UAB Arts in Medicine Presents Art Therapy as a Pathway to Trauma-Recovery
Join art therapist Valerie Hanks, ATR, to discover how art-making—guided by a registered art therapist—can help process and heal trauma. Valerie will share the science and practice of art therapy for trauma recovery, then lead participants through a calming creative prompt using simple, everyday materials. No art experience needed—just openness to explore art’s power to reduce stress and foster healing.
