
2025 VIVA Health Gala Presents A Night of the Arts
The 2025 Viva Health Gala, Night of the Arts, will take place on Friday, September 5, offering guests an immersive celebration of the arts while raising vital funds for AEIVA, the Alys Stephens Center, ArtPlay, and Arts in Medicine. Honoring Lydia Cheney and Jim Sokol for their dedication to arts advocacy, this all-inclusive evening features a curated AEIVA gallery experience, live performances by Arts in Medicine participants, and a private concert by pop vocal group Wilson Phillips. Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner by Helen Restaurant on the Sirote Theatre stage, complemented by a performance from ArtPlay’s youth singers. The evening concludes with an exclusive after-party at the Alys Stephens Center. Sponsorship and VIP ticket packages include premium seating, valet parking, and access to pre-performance experiences. Ticket prices start at $250, promising an unforgettable night of culture, philanthropy, and entertainment.

For this edition, we will kick things off at AEIVA with cocktails, snacks, and a private viewing of AEIVA’s 2026 exhibition Blue Moon Cocoon by artist Virginia Lee Montgomery. Then we’ll hop aboard a private bus for a “one-stop-hop” to the AARDT Foundation for a private viewing of their art collection and learn more about their mission from Birmingham art collector Michael Straus.

AEIVA and UAB Arts in Medicine PresentsMuseum Meditations: The Art of Virginia Lee Montgomery
A partnership between UAB’s Arts in Medicine and the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts, the Museum Meditations program uses art to inspire reflection and mindfulness while encouraging participants to unwind and relieve stress. Whether you’re a beginner or a skilled practitioner, join us for a free 45-minute guided meditation led by certified yoga therapist, Kim Richardson. Each session, inspired by the art of Virginia Lee Montgomery, will be held in the galleries at AEIVA immersed in the art on view. Due to space restrictions, classes are capped to a total of 20 participants per class. Advance registration is required. Participants in these programs may be expected to sit on the floor or in a low chair or cushion for prolonged periods of time. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats or small floor cushion. Please note that water bottles are not permitted in the galleries.
