Sketch Comedy in the Ham

Teaching Artist David Perry
Ever wanted to be in a sketch comedy show like SNL, Portlandia, or Key and Peele? Students will write and star in a one-hour sketch comedy show presented at the end of the session. Students will learn basic improvisation, acting, and writing techniques, and will study the works of previous sketch comedy groups. Students will have writing assignments to aid in developing an individual style as a sketch comedy writer. This course will teach the skills needed to write and perform funny and original material on stage, and students will leave the class with a writing portfolio and a strong understanding of sketch and production.
