Birmingham Public Library Spanish Treasure: Maps from the Era of Exploration

This program will portray Spanish exploration and growth in the New World, as recorded on maps.  It will highlight the tremendous effect that Spain had on the development of the region, and the lasting heritage in much of the Western Hemisphere. After a visual presentation, time will be available to see many of the actual maps.

Este programa retrata las exploraciones españolas y su extensión en el Nuevo Mundo como se preservan en los mapas. La exposición subraya el efecto tremendo que España tuvo sobre el desarrollo de la región y su legado duradero en gran parte del Hemisferio Oeste. Después de una presentación visual, habrá tiempo para que se vean muchos de los mapas originales.
