Grades K-3 MTA: THE LAND OF YANGALELE
Legendary Congolese guitarist/vocalist Siama Matuzungidi and vocalist Dallas Johnson will share the sounds of soukous music (aka “the sound of happiness”) – a joyful music style from central Africa that one can hear on dance floors around the world. During this vibrant, interactive show, children will learn how to sing in Kikongo, Lingala and Swahili languages, how to yodel Congolese-style and how to use the call-and-response format of the Mbaka people.
