Community Yoga Class: Ashtanga Yoga with Heather Vanchina
Start your week of right with yoga in the green, every Monday in April. Each week will feature a different yoga form, taught by a Birmingham-based yoga instructor. Bring your own yoga mat (or towel). No previous experience required.
This week will feature Birmingham yoga instructor Heather Vanchina teaching Ashtanga yoga, a traditional yoga practice where a set of poses are given in a specific order. There is an emphasis on linking the breath and movement. Classes begin with Sun Salutations, then move into standing postures, and end with basic seated postures from the Ashtanga Primary Series. Modifications are given, and all are welcome
