AEIVA and Department of Music Present Chamber Music @ AEIVA

AEIVA and the UAB Department of Music present music inspired by AEIVA’s current exhibitions.

Chamber Music at AEIVA on February 8 will complement the exhibits of Andy Warhol and Amanda Ross-Ho. Our theme will be AUTHENTICITY and will feature music by Kal Opperman, Gustav Mahler, John Cage, George Benson, Louis Armstrong, and original compositions for jazz combo. Performers include clarinetist Denise Gainey, pianist Yakov Kasman, soprano Kristine Hurst-Wasjzczuk, the UAB Percussion Ensemble led by Gene Fambrough, saxophonist Reginald Jackson, and a jazz combo featuring Steve Roberts, Carlos Pino, and Abe Becker. This concert is curated by Kristine Hurst-Wajszczuk.

Kristine Hurst-wajszczuk, Yakov Kasman, and Denise Gainey (a transcription of Mahler’s “Das Himmlische Leben” and Denise will perform Kal Opperman’s “Un Seul”)
