Virtual Class Embroidery 101
Teaching Artist Nikki Kintner
Join Nikki Kintner, a local textile artist and owner of Stitch & Petal, for this Beginner’s Modern Hand-Embroidery Course. Over five weeks and through three different projects, students will become familiar with embroidery tools, learn to set and finish hoops, and master four of the most-used stitches in modern hand-embroidery. The projects include a stitch sampler, a floral fabric outline piece and a pattern designed by Nikki. Each project will be started in class, but then students will continue their embroidery at home in between classes. Materials Needed:
- Two (2) 6″ embroidery hoops
- Embroidery needle
- DMC embroidery floss
- One (1) piece of sulky fabri solvy
- Simple 4×6 frame (similar to this)
- Two (2) 8×8″ solid cream/white linen-cotton fabric pieces
- One (1) 6×6″ fabric piece with a floral pattern
- One (1) 6×6″ felt piece
- Scissors
