Join experienced director and playwright David Strickland for this welcoming and inspiring advanced playwriting class! Together, we’ll explore the art of crafting dynamic plays, embracing the joy of surprising ourselves through the creative process. With a mix of at-home and in-class writing exercises, you’ll share your work in a supportive and encouraging workshop environment. This class is open to everyone, but it’s especially great for those with some experience in playwriting or a solid understanding of the basics. Come ready to grow, create, and have fun!
Artist Bio:
David Strickland is a seasoned director hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, with extensive experience in directing plays and musicals. He considers Terrific New Theatre his artistic home, having directed acclaimed productions such as “Fun Home,” “The Big Meal,” and “The Nora Plays.” David has also directed at Birmingham Children’s Theatre, Theatre Downtown, and Red Mountain Theatre, and has assistant directed at regional theatres nationwide, from Florida to Connecticut.
