Sanjay Singh – Board Member and Patron
I have many, but the three that stand out are the following:
1. The Annual Diwali: Festival of Lights hosted by the Indian Cultural Association at UAB. This is the largest student run event on campus and I am proud to say that 20+ years ago I had the good fortune of starting it along with the Indian students on UAB campus. We are planning our next edition on Saturday, Nov 6th, 2021!! Students prepare for 12 months for this 3 hour extravagant student and community run event.
2. My next magical moment is associated with Red Baraat, the Indian Hip-Hop, Jazz and Bhangra band that we get to host every other year at ASC. They are just magical and to see how effortlessly they engage high school students in the educational program is amazing. And their very first concert, which we held outside, is still talked about by everyone who attended.
3. Finally, the performance by Taj Express in October 2019 was simply out of this world.
