Nancy Hallmark – Patron & Volunteer
On 9/11/2001 I was a volunteer at ASC. Shortly after the attack, ASC hosted the Moscow Symphony. The house was packed, the stage was packed with musicians. The conductor walked to the podium, raised his baton, and they began to play “The Star-spangled Banner.” Many of the patrons wept.
Then they played the Russian National Anthem, then they played “the Russians.” It was remarkable.
In honor of the 25th anniversary season of the Alys Stephens Center, we are collecting stories of your ASC experience and your hope for the next 25 years of performing arts at the ASC.
