I will never forget the evening I saw Kris Kristofferson at the ASC.

It was just Kris, alone on stage, with his guitar. The audience was incredibly respectful of this amazing singer/songwriter, and sat in silence aptly mesmerized for much of the show, erupting into huge cheers at the end of each song. Despite the quiet, the energy was electric, and the atmosphere crackled with it – almost a spiritual experience. And then Kris performed “The Ballad of Ira Hayes”, in a mournful, nostalgic tone, and the song hung in the air… and I still don’t know if it was preplanned or not, but suddenly a voice from the audience began to sing. It was sad, Native American lyrical chanting. And we were all transported to this most magical empathy. Many people including Kris (and myself) had tears running down our faces.

I will never forget the evening I saw Kris Kristofferson at the ASC.
